I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor which means I draw on a range of theories to support our work together. I am a firm believer in the importance of the relationship between client and counsellor; it is essential that you feel supported in your distress. I am based in London, and I have been a member of Imperial College's Psychedelic Research Group since 2015 and was a lead guide on Imperial College's randomised controlled trial (Psilodep 2) comparing psilocybin to escitalopram in the treatment of depression.
I have worked from 2021-2024 as a lead therapist for Small Pharma's clinical trials with DMT-assisted therapy for depression. This was originally a collaboration between Small Pharma and Imperial College London. I co-designed the Beckley Academy Foundations to Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy training course I have contributed to the development of a therapist training programme for the DMT trials, having co-produced a psychedelic therapy framework for working with DMT. Currently Michelle is a senior study therapist with Kings College Psychoactive Trials group.
I offer individual psychedelic integration for people who are struggling to process psychedelic experiences and co-facilitate the psychedelic integration specialist interest group for The Institute of Psychedelic Therapy, drawing on my experience of facilitating integration groups over the past five years. I am also an advisor for PsyAware an organisation dedicated to harm reduction and psychoeducation.
“Psychotherapy must remain an obstinate attempt of two people to recover the wholeness of being human through the relationship between them."
