IPT Members Only Event – Integration Forum – 4 December 2024 7:00pm

This event is part of our specialist interest circles that are open to IPT members only. You can see the IPT membership criteria here: https://instituteofpsychedelictherapy.org/membership.

What do we really mean when we talk about therapeutic integration of a psychedelic experience? How does this actually occur? What influence does our own therapeutic background have? How can we be vigilant about the complex ethical concerns that arise in working therapeutically with altered states of consciousness?

Plenty of complicated, important and interesting questions arise when we start to dig down into integration. Through the IPT website, we offer integration services but we may have very different ideas of what this means/entails. As a group of practitioners involved in this area, we can come together and share our knowledge, beliefs, understanding, expertise, hopes and fears to deepen our self-awareness and our capacities to work effectively with our clients. As group facilitators, we acknowledge we are not experts in this area: we hope to create a space for us all to learn and deepen our understanding together.

We envisage this group as a combination of a space to share questions and thoughts as well some structured sessions that may bring more cohesive thoughts forward. The broad aim is to consider developing best practice, areas to debate, accountability and growth.  We can have discussions, bring speakers, read articles, go through case studies; however we all find we wish to develop the space.

Our IPT Integration Forum Group is chaired by psychotherapists Kate Palmer and Michelle Baker-Jones.
